Activemark / Sportsmark was not awarded during 2008-09 so the previous year's awards have been extended. New awards will follow this year's PESSYP survey. ACTIVEMARK / SPORTSMARK 2008 Activemark, Sportsmark and Sports Partnership Mark – which are awarded annually as a reward for the delivery of the national PE, School Sport and Club Links strategy. They are open to all schools which are part of a school sport partnership. Schools are automatically assessed for one of the marks through the national school sport survey, which all partnership schools take part in. Activemark 2008 Schools received the mark if, according to the survey: • 90% or more of pupils across the school were doing at least 2 hours high quality PE and school sport a week. Sports Partnership Mark 2008
Partnerships received the mark if at least 90% of pupils across the partnership were doing at least 2 hours high quality PE and school sport each week.

143 partnerships met the standard and have been awarded Sports Partnership Mark 2007.
1. How long will the award last? The kitemarks are awarded each year — automatically through the school sport survey. They last for 12 months. 2. Are the kitemarks open to independent schools? Yes. If an independent school is linked to a School Sport Partnership and took part in the school sport survey, then they will be eligible. 3. Are the awards open to special schools and PRUs? Yes, as long as the special school/PRU is within a school sport partnership and takes part in the annual school sport survey then it will be automatically assessed for one of the kitemarks. Special schools/PRUs with primary aged pupils will be assessed for Activemark, those with secondary aged pupils will be assessed for Sportsmark. 4. What does the school get? Each school which qualifies for one of the kitemarks will receive a certificate. The school will also be able to use the kitemark logo for the relevant year on their headed paper and other documentation. 5. Where can I get the logo from? Your Partnership Development Manager will have a copy of the logos and will distribute it to the successful schools. 6. Where can I find out more information?
