Pool Canoeing at Norton Manor.
pool-canoeing-mar-09compres.jpgThanks to the generosity of the Royal Marine 45 Commando at Norton Manor we have started pool canoeing sessions on Friday evenings.  There are 2 sessions for secondary pupils from 4-5pm and from 5-6pm and a primary school session from 6-7pm.  The cost is £3 per session.  For more details contact Alison Slater, Partnership Administrator at This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it or phone 01823 337177
 
Regional Indoor Rowing Finals
rowing-comp-mar-09.jpgOn Wednesday 4th March, staff from the Tone School Sports Partnership took a team of 16 pupils ranging from Year 7 to Year 11 to the Regional Indoor Rowing Finals at Plymouth Marjons University. The team of 16 was selected from the rowing matches that had been run over the previous 4 months at Blackbrook Pavilion.

Year 4 Net/Wall festivals - spring 2009
castle-net-wall-09-1.jpgThis term has seen the Tone School Sports Partnership host their net/wall themed festivals for over 700 children from Yr 4 all across the Taunton Deane & Wiveliscombe area. The idea of the festivals is to give the children involved an enjoyable, fun and safe experience in sports associated with nets and walls, which they might not have had the opportunity to try previously. This year there were 4 sports on offer; badminton, squash, volleyball and table tennis.

Debbie's a knockout at Millfield
pict0007-compressed.jpg3 times former World Tae-Kwando champion Debbie Hill was a knock out success at the Somerset Yr 7 & 8 gifted and talented academy at Millfield.  She demonstrated some of her high flying kicks and punches and spoke to the 150 athletes about what it takes to be a world champion.

Yr 10 Hockey Cup Final

kingmead-castle-y10-hockey.jpgTaunton Vale Hockey Club hosted what was a fantastic Yr 10 Cup final on Friday 9th January. After having to cancel the match previously, even though the temperature was -1, Kingsmead and Castle were happy to play and did not disapoint the parents and spectators who braved the icy conditions.
